Job Title: Digital Fundraising and Marketing Officer
Location: Canada - Remote or Hybrid from our Toronto office (preferable ET time zone)
Salary: Officer Level 7, Step 1 - $67,895 (CAD)
Contract: Monday – Friday (Full-time 37.5 hours a week or 80% hours), permanent, Hybrid
Reporting to: Digital Fundraising and Marketing Senior Manager (based in USA)

Principle Accountability
CAMFED has ambitious plans to grow income from small-dollar donors globally to a whole new level. The Paid Media Officer will play a key role in achieving this objective, supporting improvements in digital marketing performance and ensuring we deliver an exceptional supporter experience from the initial touchpoint through to conversion and retention. The role will support in the development and execution of an ambitious plan to attract, engage and convert small-dollar donors in support of CAMFED’s mission, with a focus on the US and Canadian markets.
Who we are
The successful candidate will join a team with a high-performance, targets-driven, accountable culture; they will monitor day-to-day marketing budget, activity and performance across marketing channels; and help provide insights to drive growth and value for the organization. Reporting to the Digital Fundraising and Marketing Senior Manager, you will work closely with CAMFED’s global Digital, Fundraising, and Communications teams in the development and execution of the global digital marketing strategy.
Specific Accountabilities
Specifically focusing on managing paid media platforms, supporting budget allocation and optimization across channels and campaigns. Using a range of analytics platforms to create actionable reports that provide insights and recommendations to inform our paid media strategy. Working with wider teams on creative for campaigns and feeding into ideation with data-based suggestions.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Marketing Planning and Execution
Implementing paid channel marketing activity, including day-to-day management and optimization of campaigns using Social, Search and other promotional digital platforms, in line with strategies set by the Digital Fundraising and Marketing Senior Manager
Working with internal colleagues, and sometimes outside partners, to produce effective creatives, from attention-grabbing graphics to converting copy
Supporting the Digital Fundraising and Marketing Senior Manager with journey plans and testing regimes, including remarketing strategies, cross-channel engagement, email sequences and split/multivariate testing plans for creative assets
Bring Canadian market-specific insights to the digital team to help optimize campaigns targeted at growing CAMFED’s Canadian supporter community. Keep ahead of topical and societal landscapes to inform the creative.
Monitoring and Measurement
Supporting monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, and contributing data and insights to inform planning, budgeting and forecasting processes
Interpreting both qualitative and quantitative information, data and trends to inform a successful digital marketing strategy
Producing detailed campaign reports including metrics such as for traffic, revenue, spend, customer acquisition cost, and other performance KPIs
Working with Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other measurement and insight tools to put effective tracking in place
Effectively communicating insights to identify lead generation and up-sell opportunities to build and retain our member base
Person Specification
Required:
An understanding of how to read data and pull out the pertinent information so that a wide audience can comprehend the key learnings
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent cross-channel campaigns, targets and budgets
Excellent digital copywriting skills. Writing short-form ad copy alongside longer email content. Beneficial to understand the nuance of copy that converts across different channels
A clear understanding of the opportunities presented by newer emerging digital paid channels
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with abilities in critical thinking, problem solving and inventiveness
And a desire to be part of a fast-growing and dynamic movement dedicated to tackling some of the world’s greatest challenges like social injustice, climate change and economic inequality
Desired:
Understanding of the principles of both supporter acquisition and retention experiences
Hands-on experience of paid campaigns using the Google and Facebook Ad platforms
Understanding of remarketing via paid social media and display advertising
Proficiency in reporting, analysis and data management software, such as Excel, Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, Looker Studio, Databox, Segment, and/or an equivalent software
Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and Fundraise Up (or other online giving platform)
