The CAMFED Canada team is driven by CAMFED’s mission and values. Together, we have developed clear strategic priorities to keep us aligned as we support that mission from Canada. Those priorities include maintaining a high level of accountability to all CAMFED’s clients as well as to all our supporters and stakeholders in Canada.

As a small team, we work together with respect, flexibility and collegiality. We don’t let job descriptions or boundaries hold us back from reaching out with helping hands to each other. Despite the rapid pace of work, we take time to connect and see each other as people first. The entire team meets virtually to share personal, and work updates every two weeks, alternating those with bi-weekly virtual meetings with our CAMFED USA colleagues. Many of the Toronto-based team join together at least once a week to work at the Toronto office. The team gathers quarterly and shares an annual retreat which gives us a chance to work hard and play hard.

We value collaborating with colleagues across the entire CAMFED consortium, often daily. We get to travel virtually across multiple time zones to “meet up” with our international teammates. Sometimes creative scheduling is called for, especially to connect with hardworking colleagues in Africa who spend much of their time working directly with our clients and partners. Through this work together, our shared sense of purpose always shines through in the mutual support we give each other."
