CAMFED offers internship placements to students, recent graduates or early-career professionals who have a strong interest in our work. Work experience placements are considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to capacity and resources.
All intern placements are advertised on our careers page and social media channels. Placements are offered as needed and are recruited at a national level only - we do not offer international or overseas placements.
Most internships last between 3 to 6 months, depending on the role and project requirements.
Where possible, we offer paid internships in line with local living wage guidelines. If a placement is unpaid, this will be clearly stated in the job advert.
Interns receive regular guidance, feedback and development opportunities throughout their time with us. While there is no guaranteed progression, some interns do go on to full-time roles. We actively encourage strong performers to apply for any suitable vacancies.
If you’re interested in working with us and there are no suitable roles open, please register your interest by Connecting with us.

CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education) serves girls and young women in the most disadvantaged communities in rural Africa, tackling the pressing and interlinked challenges of poverty and gender that limit their education and opportunity.
CAMFED partners with thousands of schools, communities and education authorities across rural (and some peri-urban) districts in Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe to tackle the multiple barriers to marginalized girls’ school access, retention, progression, completion, and transition. For more information, visit: https://camfed.org/
Student Sponsorship: CAMFED works with communities to identify the most vulnerable and marginalized girls, often those at the highest risk of dropping out due to poverty, orphanhood, or other challenges. We also offer support through the CAMFED Association, a network of women leaders who were once supported by CAMFED, and who now mentor and support other girls.
