Who we are
CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education) is recognized internationally as a leader in girls’ education,
as a voice for girls’ education and women’s empowerment at the highest levels. Founded in 1993,
CAMFED supports young women throughout their primary and secondary school years, into economic
training, further education, and onto leadership, as role models, activists, and philanthropists.
Principle Accountability
The Sub-County Coordinators will be based in Loitoktok, Kajiado Central, Kajiado North, and Mashuuru respectively, supporting CAMFED programmes across the eight sub-counties in Kajiado County. The role focuses on strengthening programme delivery and operations at county and sub-county levels in alignment with Government priorities and CAMFED’s mission. Coordinators will work closely with Sub County Development Committees and School-Based Committees to implement the CAMFED Strategic Plan. They will lead planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of programme activities aimed at expanding educational opportunities for marginalized girls and strengthening CAMFED Association (CAMA) as a platform for young women’s empowerment.
Specific Accountabilities:
Program Implementation
• Lead the implementation of CAMFED’s in-school and out-of-school programme in the
designated sub-county/s towards the attainment of CAMFED’s strategic plan including ensuring
effective and quality delivery of the programme activities in line with the annual work plan.
• Ensure timely and quality implementation of activities and projects in designated Sub-Counties.
• Administer support to targeted recipients, including clients, schools, CAMA members,
communities and committees.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
• Facilitate and monitor completeness and accuracy of data collected using Salesforce and/or
Excel.
• Ensure that all data collection tools are administered and submitted correctly and on time.
• Conduct regular support visits to monitor progress and provide on-the-ground support.
• Production of quality routine monthly and quarterly narrative, financial and compliance reports.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Communicate, network, and build effective working relationships with relevant institutions, partners, team members, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and Government agencies to help create opportunities and advancement of the CAMFED agenda.
Capacity Building and Learning
• Coordinate lesson learning, sharing of best practices, and skills sharing amongst CAMFED structures which include CAMA, Parent Support Groups, Teacher Mentors, and Community
Development Committees.
• Facilitate the establishment, technical support, and requisite capacity building and programme
delivery structures in designated sub-counties in strategic planning and budgeting, programme
implementation, monitoring, evaluation, learning, reporting, and other developmental areas.
• Organizing, facilitating, and managing designated/ planned training meetings and workshops for
staff and stakeholders
Financial Management & Administration
• Process, consolidate and produce designated quarterly Expenditure Authorizations and work
plans.
• Implement the approved annual/quarterly work/operating plans and budgets in compliance
with donor requirements and CAMFED’s policies and procedures.
• Logistical arrangements/support for all sub-country operations
Records and Documentation
• Maintain accurate records for CAMFED operations in the sub counties e.g. Letters from schools,
CAMA, parent support groups, Teacher Mentors, Sub County Development Committee.
Safeguarding
• Report any Child Protection and Safeguarding concerns or incidents promptly to the designated
officers and authorities.
• Contribute to creating an atmosphere where all individuals feel safe and respected, encouraging
open communication about Child Protection and Safeguarding issues.
• Be vigilant and recognize signs of abuse or neglect and understand the appropriate steps to take
when concerns arise.
• Handle all safeguarding information with confidentiality, sharing details only with those who need
to know, in accordance with legal and organizational guidelines.

Skills & Competencies
• Ability to manage and coordinate community-based initiatives.
• Strong ability to implement and manage programs effectively, ensuring alignment with strategic
plans and annual work schedules.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse
stakeholders, including community members, schools, and governmental agencies
•Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with local partners, NGOs, government
agencies, and funding organizations.
•Strong organizational and logistical skills to manage multiple priorities and ensure efficient
operation of district activities
•Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse communities.
• Experience in preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
•A demonstrated commitment to CAMFED’s values including safeguarding and equity and to
achieving CAMFED’s mission
•Proactive, efficient and attention to detail
Essential requirements:
• A degree in social work, Social sciences, Education, Development Studies, or any related
discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project management and/or related field, administration and
financial processes and experience in producing and analyzing data
