Who we are
CAMFED is a pan-African movement that is grassroots-led, bold and accountable. Our mission - to tackle poverty, inequality and injustice by focusing on girls’ education and women’s leadership in Africa.
We believe in starting with the most marginalised girl - when she is supported to go to school, succeed and lead, the ripple-effect touches her community, her country and beyond.
Since 1993 we have built a model that combines financial support, holistic social and emotional support, peer mentoring and a leadership network of young women (CAMFED Association) who themselves were once in the margins.
Why work with us?
If you’re looking for more than a job. If you want to work with purpose, activism, innovation and impact then join us:
- You’ll join a team driven by meaningful outcomes such as improved school completion, leadership of young women, and community transformation

- We prioritise our people. Competitive pay benchmarking, generous leave including five discretionary days at Christmas/New Year, family-friendly leave, employee assistance, and wellbeing are included in our benefit package
- We believe in professional growth - learning built into daily work, frequent check-in and feedback culture, and opportunities to develop
What we look for
We’re seeking individuals who:
- Are passionate about education, gender equity, poverty-reduction and systemic change
- Believe in working with communities, listening first to the lived experience of young women, and designing solutions that reflect that (our model emphasises accountability to the girl and community-voice first)
- Bring collaboration, resilience and adaptability in a dynamic international-development environment

Kate Noetzel, Digital Fundraising & Marketing Manager, CAMFED USA
Working at CAMFED is truly unique. The organization lives its values every day - in our work, in our culture, and in how we treat one another. People here care deeply, not only about the mission but about each other. There’s a shared understanding that we’re more than our job titles, and that each of us brings something vital to the whole. We often say, “Together, We Can!” - and I can’t think of a better way to describe the CAMFED spirit.

Lindiwe M Taruvinga, CAMA Development Manager, CAMFED International - Zimbabwe
My journey began in a junior role - hands-on and full of learning. Coming from a background where opportunities weren’t guaranteed, I took every chance to grow, support my team, and contribute meaningfully to our mission.
Now, as a manager, I lead with the same values that shaped me: equity, empowerment, and service. I’m proud to be part of an organization where we don’t just talk about impact - we live it.
What drives me is knowing what I do every day impacts thousands of vulnerable children, young women and communities. If you're considering a career in CAMFED, go for it - this organization creates a safe space for your growth and development. -
Aldrin Tininga, Regional Internal Auditor, CAMFED Zimbabwe
I began my career with CAMFED in 2016 as a Finance Intern. In 2019, I returned to the organization to take up the role of Internal Audit Assistant and my current position is Regional Internal Auditor. My experience has steadily grown over time, and the journey has been truly amazing from starting out as an intern to becoming a qualified internal auditor. What stands out most about the people at CAMFED is the strong sense of family; regardless of your role, the work remains enjoyable. I am excited about continuing my journey with CAMFED for many more years to come.
