Reporting to: Finance & Operations Manager
Contract: Full Time, Permanent and Remote

CAMFED USA Foundation is a member of the global CAMFED consortium. With CAMFED’s growing public profile and high-level support in the US, we are seeking an Accounting & Operations Officer to support the US-based Finance & Operations Team, as well as the wider team at CAMFED USA and international finance team members. CAMFED is looking for a driven individual who is passionate about the work we do and can successfully contribute to our mission. Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting bookkeeping, drafting journal entries, filing and maintaining electronic records, and accurately maintaining the general ledger and key finance schedules
- Work with the finance team on income financial management, including accounts receivable, and income recognition. Work with the development team to receive incoming mail, process check donations, and maintain donor records
- Assist in the accounts payable and expenditure process, including drafting payment requisitions, coordinating payments, and communicating with vendors
- Support other processes, including but not limited to the following areas:
- Month end/quarter end procedures
- Running of monthly updates for the USA budget and grant budget reports
- Ad-hoc finance projects as needed, such as assisting preparations for the year-end audit and 990 filing, financial management of grants, and budgeting
- Booking travel arrangements, purchasing supplies, and supporting the wider teams through administrative and operational duties
The duties and responsibilities in this role profile are not exhaustive and are subject to change following the needs of the organization. A job profile needs to be flexible enough to allow us to be adaptive as an organization.
Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting or a related field preferred
- At least 1 year of work experience or internship experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Working understanding of US GAAP preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Neat and organized, with a keen eye for detail
- Able to work in a fast-moving environment, providing accurate and timely information to high standards
- Flexibility to accommodate time differences to communicate with the global finance team on occasion
